On 05/03/25 you contacted the Combined Authority to request an internal review into the response provided to your FOI request.

I apologise for the delay in providing your response. I now have reviewed your request and can present the findings below.

Internal Review Request:
Please may I request an internal review for the freedom of information request case reference 202404281.

I do not believe that the absolute exemption has been applied correctly. The request refers to a matter of use of public money and transparency on behalf of the combined authority.

York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Response:
This internal review has found that the original response was compliant in its application of Section 40 (personal data), as shown in a first tier tribunal finding on senior figures redundancy payments,  20110211_Pycroft_v_IC_and_SDC_open_decision_EA20100165.pdf
However, in order to assist you, additional discussions were held with Mr Dennis and also Members of the Combined Authority, we can now confirm that the parties have given consent and are agreeable to the disclosure being made. Mr Dennis took voluntary redundancy on 1 January 2025, the payments made to Mr Dennis in relation to this are as follows:

• Voluntary Redundancy £53,741.21
• Payment in Lieu of Notice £26,436.00
• Outstanding Lieu/Flexi £15,000.00

Total – £95,177.21

This equates to the sums that Mr Dennis was statutorily entitled to.
