I write in connection with your request for information that was received by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, Policing, Fire and Crime Directorate (PFC) 29 October 2025.

Question:

  1. Any correspondence between the Chief Constable and the Police and Crime Commissioner in relation to how correspondence is dealt with by the former
  2. Any directive or formal notification or discussion held between the current Mayor and Chief Constable in relation to correspondence sent to the Chief Constable
  3. Any standing Order issued by the Chief Constable of North Yorkshire in relation to how Officers under his command deal with correspondence sent by members of the public
  4. Any procedural Guidance issued by either the Current Mayor, Police and Crime Commissioner or Chief Constable to either senior officers of each department indicated above.
  5. Since January 1st 2025 how many requests have been made for advice or information has been sent to either the Chief Constable or Police and Crime Commissioner on matters of road safety in the York area including Rawcliffe, York.

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within the PFC.
