A copy of the report by the complaints committee of the police and crime panel into the use of a force pool car by the PCC following a flat tyre on her own vehicle.I’ve seen your policy on driving force vehicles and have seen all driver should have done a test.
Is this necessary for insurance purposes?

- Please see document attached, entitled ‘Response to Complaint referred to the IPCC’ Please note this was a pool car not a patrol car.
- I’ve seen your policy on driving force vehicles and have seen all driver should have done a test.
- No – the motor insurance policy would respond in the event of an incident giving rise to a claim under this policy regardless of whether an assessment had been undertaken by the Driver Training Unit.
- Is this necessary for insurance purposes?
- Has the PCC any of these driving tests?
- The PCC has not had an internal ‘test’ assessment but the requirement is no longer necessary as you will see in the report
