I write in connection with your request for information that was received by the Office of the Police,
Fire and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire (OPFCC) on 07th December 2023.

QUESTION/ REQUEST:
Is the North Yorkshire Police Authority the responsible body for the location of the mobile speed
cameras?
Is it a NYPA vehicle and NYPA personnel conducting the speed checks?
What are the criteria for positioning a mobile speed camera vehicle?
I understand speeding fines are held in a government consolidated fund. Is this correct?
How is the NYPA reimbursed for conducting mobile speed checks? i.e. per hour, per NIP etc.
I know that Police Authorities are funded via government grants, precept, and other special
considerations. Is it the case that mobile speed checks, represent another income stream to the
Authority?

ANSWER/ RESPONSE:
I wish to advise you that there is no information held by the OPFCC in order to answer your request.
This is because the information is held by North Yorkshire Police and not the OPFCC.
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within the OPFCC.
