I write in connection with your request for information that was received by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, Policing, Fire and Crime Directorate (PFC) on the 29th September 2025
Question/ Request:
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I request the following information held by North Yorkshire Police:
To explain I am interested to find any supporting data on trends, positive or negative in each of these dimensions, cognisant that I think the 4 hate crime officers in York ( ok confirm) as well as the PCC are actively promoting the reporting of hate crimes. I see you do send the Home Office very detailed reports on each dimension for York.
1. The total number of hate crimes for York recorded by North Yorkshire Police from 1 April 2021 to the most recent available date in 2025.
2. A monthly breakdown of these recorded hate crimes for each year in the requested period (April 2021 to present in 2025).
3. A breakdown of recorded hate crimes by type of hate (e.g., race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, transgender identity).
4. The total number and monthly breakdown of non-crime hate incidents recorded in the same period.
5. Any available statistics on outcomes or resolutions of reported hate crimes and non-crime hate incidents during this period.
Answer/ Response:
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within the PFC.
I wish to advise you that there is no information held by the PFC in order to answer your request.
