I write in connection with your request for information that was received by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, Policing, Fire and Crime Directorate (PFC) on the 12th December 2025.
Request:
Please provide details of the total expenditure/contribution by the PCC/OPCC on public-space CCTV
Where the PCC/OPCC does not directly fund CCTV, please confirm whether CCTV provision in the force area is instead funded entirely by local authorities, town/community councils
If the requested information is already publicly available, I would be grateful if you could direct me to the relevant documents or webpages.
Response:
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within the PFC.
I wish to advise you that there is no information held by the PFC in order to answer your request.
The PFC do not fund CCTV (see below extract from the Community Fund Guidance notes or our website for further information:- Apply for the Community Fund – York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority – Policing, Fire and Crime Team )
Projects and ineligible costs the Community Fund cannot support include:
- CCTV
- Vehicle Activated Signage (VAS)
- Residential trips
- On-going costs to support core delivery without added value
- VAT
The information you are looking for may be held by the Local Authority.
