Julia publishes 2017 / 2018 Annual Report

Julia has published her Annual Report for the 2017/2018 financial year.

It outlines progress against the Police and Crime Plan over the twelve month period. The Plan, which all Commissioners must produce, sets out the vision and priorities for policing and community safety, as well as objectives and ambitions that the Chief Constable will be held to account against.

The year saw North Yorkshire remain the safest place in England, as well as the Police force being assessed as ‘good’ by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary. The roll-out of a transformational mobile working programme, to allow officers to spend more time in communities rather than filling in forms at a police station, was also introduced.

Julia Mulligan said:

“This was another busy year for North Yorkshire Police, but I am pleased to see significant progress was made in reaching the objectives set out in my Police and Crime Plan.

“Investment has been made across the force, not least in the force control room – in our efforts to reduce waiting times – and in new technology to allow frontline officers and staff to spend more time on the streets of North Yorkshire rather than sat behind desks.

“My focus remains on listening to the views of residents and businesses to make sure that North Yorkshire Police provides an exemplary service. The force is currently going through a transformational programme which will support that aim and, with a new Chief Constable now in place, I am confident we are heading in the right direction.”
