Anyone Can Be A Victim – Youth Commission Campaign On Abusive Relationships

We want to highlight that anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, can be a victim, and that everyone deserves to access support.

This campaign came about as a result of our 2025 peer-to-peer research that found that lots of young people feel victims of abuse all fit the same stereotype, and that boys and young men felt embarrassed to reach out for help.

To tackle this, our posters and social media posts will be shared with schools, colleges and a range of young people’s groups to promote the message that anyone can be a victim.

Here are some messages from Youth Commission members about our hopes for the campaign:

People should always feel comfortable being able to speak up about these types of situations and that they know there will always be support with no judgment.

Telling (People) that you can be a victim regardless of gender or any of the protected characteristics.

Empower younger people to know that they can be a victim too.

Don’t be afraid to reach out for help, others are going through the same thing you are.
