April Update from the Youth Commission

This month the Youth Commission have ran workshops with organisations including LGBTQ youth voice group and Harrogate young carers. Really interesting to hear their experiences and offer suggestions for how to tackle issues of hate crime and mental health.

The members have also been actively involved in two important subgroup meetings on the topics of Hate Crime and abusive relationships this month at North Yorkshire Police headquarters. This has incorporated building relationships and planning for ways the Youth Commission can advise the police on these topics. The Youth Commission will be continuing their advisory role on these topics and sharing recommendations with the police from conversations with young people.
