Jo Coles, York and North Yorkshire Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime comments on Government’s Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee

Commenting on the Government’s plans to put police officers back in our neighbourhoods, Jo Coles, York and North Yorkshire Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime said:

“The Government’s Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee to put police officers back on our streets is extremely welcome. Dedicated neighbourhood police officers and PCSOs can use local knowledge to address issues quickly before problems escalate. In our Police and Crime Plans we prioritised neighbourhood policing because we know how important this is to building trust and confidence, reducing crime and making people feel safe. The Mayor and I will continue to use the opportunities from devolution to deliver safe places for all our communities.”
