Visitors to Great Yorkshire Show urged to ‘have their say’ and help shape the future of rural policing

Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire Julia Mulligan is calling on visitors to the Great Yorkshire Show to have their say and help shape the future of rural policing.

In her role as chair of the National Rural Crime Network, Julia is hosting a Rural Crime Breakfast Briefing at the show at 8.30am on Tuesday 12 July.

The session will give visitors the chance to:

• Quiz Julia about her work for fair funding for rural policing

• Tell North Yorkshire’s Acting Assistant Chief Constable Amanda Oliver what rural people and businesses want from the police, and

• Ask North Yorkshire’s new Rural Crime Taskforce’s Inspector Jon Grainge how his team is tackling rural crime locally.

“North Yorkshire is leading the way in delivering responsive policing to rural communities and this is a chance for visitors to the show to influence people at the forefront of this essential service,” said Julia.
