Jo Coles - North Yorkshire Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime
Yorkshire Day represents an opportunity for people from across York and North Yorkshire to showcase what makes our region special. In celebration of this, the York and North Yorkshire Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning has been highlighting just some of the amazing work being done to help protect and support victims of crime.

Just a Kiss

Just a Kiss is a short film commissioned by the OPFCC in order to raise awareness of stalking and harassment. Produced by Rural Media, a local production company, it follows the story of a young university fresher who becomes the victim of stalking following an encounter with a young man on a night out.

The film chronicles how stalking can quickly escalate and impact the lives of victims and displays the perspective of friends and family.

You can view the full film, and find out more about where to turn for help with stalking and harassment, by visiting the Just a Kiss page on our website.

Supporting Victims

Supporting Victims provides support for anyone affected by crime. That includes people who have been a victim of crime themselves, people who have suffered a bereavement as a result of crime, people who are the family spokesperson for a victim, the parents or guardians of victims under 18, and members of staff where their business has been subject to crime.

If you have suffered as the result of a crime and you are finding it hard to cope, Supporting Victims can help you – even if you have decided not to report that crime to the police.
