The full cost of the deployment will be met by the donee police force and there is no net cost to the North Yorkshire Police fund.

The request was considered and approved on 1 July 2021 subject to the consent of the Secretary of State being obtained by North Yorkshire Police (in conjunction with the National Police Coordination Centre) in accordance with s26(3) of the Act.

Details of the specific deployment are retained within the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner but are not published within this Decision Notice. The Chief Constable is satisfied that those details are operationally sensitive for the reasons set out in Regulation (2)(a) to (c) of the Elected Local Policing Bodies (Specified Information) Order 2011 in that publication would be against the interests of national security; and/or might jeopardise the safety of any person; and/or might prejudice the prevention or detection of crime, the apprehension or prosecution of offenders, or the administration of justice.

The Commissioner has decided to agree the deployment of a member of North Yorkshire Police and an associated police resource at short notice for an estimated maximum period of five days of temporary service with a police force outside of the United Kingdom.
