Request
Please advise what, if any, transparency requirements you require of the police in your area or that you are planning to require. Please include any transparency requirements for the pay, expenses and allowances for the chief constable and other senior officers.
Response
Mr
Thank you for your request on our transparency requirements.
Police and Crime Commissioners have a duty required by statute to publish documents and information as set out in the Elected Local Policing Bodies (Specified Information) Order 2011 and the Elected Local Policing Bodies (Specified Information) (Amendment) Order 2012.
We follow this duty and review the information we publish, to ensure its accuracy, regularly.
The information is available on our website at: https://www.northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk/taking-action/freedom-of-information/compliance-with-specified-information-order/.
In relation to pay expenses and allowances for the Chief Constable and other senior staff North Yorkshire Police publish the following information on their website:
- Business interests, expenses, and for the Chief Constable terms of appointment and relocation expenses: https://northyorkshire.police.uk/about/lists-and-registers/
Senior salaries are published on the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s website at:
https://www.northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk/taking-action/expenses-and-expenditure/senior-salaries-information/
Over and above these statutory requirements the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner publishes:
- All expenses of the OPCC, not just those over £500 https://www.northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk/taking-action/expenses-and-expenditure/all-opcc-expenses/
We are constantly reviewing and adding to the information we publish to improve transparency.
