818 Decisions Required and Report for Information  
818a Fire & Rescue Service Integration

Discussions took place regarding the options available for collaboration with emergency services in accordance with the Policing & Crime Bill.  FS advised that meetings are being held between NYP and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (NYFRS) with a view to identifying collaboration opportunities that arise from the legislation.  An overview of the options available was provided, and the Board was updated on the position of other Police Forces and Fire Services undertaking collaboration work.  The Board agreed to progress procuring consultancy services to support NYP & NYFRS assessing the options available through the Policing & Crime Bill.

818b Treasury Management Report

MP presented the Quarterly Treasury Management Report.  It was agreed that consideration will be given to alternative options for the investment of NYP funds with a view to maximising returns.

818c Specialist Capabilities within Yorkshire & the Humber (YatH)

DJ provided copies of the Specialist Capabilities report and advised that this had been completed on a force by force basis.  Work is currently underway to consider how they may be delivered via the 7 forces in the North East..

Deputy Chief Constable: CC Jones advised that ACC Lisa Winward was successful in a recent recruitment exercise and will assume the role of DCC upon Tim Madgwick’s retirement in 2017.
