A new national survey commissioned by charity Changing Faces has looked at the lives and experiences of over 1,000 people with a visible difference, and provided a picture of how those with visible differences are affected by hate crimes, incidents and negative behaviours in the UK today.
Over 450 new police officers have joined North Yorkshire Police since July 2019 as the force is on track to exceed the Uplift programme recruitment target set by the Home Office by more than 55 officers.
Following the announcement that in 2021-2022 North Yorkshire had the lowest number of serious complaints submitted to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), Commissioner Zoë sheds some light on how her office go above and beyond to manage complaints and ensure the public have confidence in their Police Force.
Yesterday, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) published a report into the values and culture of all 44 fire and rescue services in England, and drew on evidence collected during inspections since 2018. The report found that bullying, harassment and discrimination are, to varying degrees, still problems in all services.
After consultation with the public, Commissioner Zoë and Chief Constable Lisa Winward have published the Community Remedy Document for North Yorkshire and York.
