Public encouraged to get involved in Commissioner’s Public Accountability meeting  – 29 September 2020

North Yorkshire’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is asking for people to get involved in her next monthly public accountability meeting, live from 1330 on Tuesday 27 September, which will focus on the fire and police services response to the coronavirus but also provide the opportunity for questions about the situation we are facing.

In addition to scrutinising the fire and police services overall performance, at this meeting Julia Mulligan will hear how both services have met the changing demands on their service during the Coronavirus pandemic and an update on plans for the future.

Public accountability meetings are broadcast live online with members of the public invited to send in their comments before or during the session.

The meeting on Tuesday 29 September, will start at 1.30pm and will focus on:

  • Fire: Coronavirus response

During these uncertain times Julia has been hosting regular live updates on the Coronavirus response direct to residents and businesses.

As well as watching the live broadcast, the public are also invited to ask their questions, relevant to the discussion, during the meetings via Twitter by including #NYscrutiny in their tweets.

Commenting on the public meetings, Julia said:

“These meetings give members of the public and staff the opportunity to understand the performance of both services and hear what they are doing to keep us safe and feeling safe.
