Meeting Room Technology

The Commissioner has decided to approve investment to fund the purchase of Meeting Room Technology to enable North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS), North Yorkshire Police (NYP) and the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) to improve the agile working environment across the joint estate to support operational and business needs.

Background

Agility is one of the key principles of the Estates Strategy for all three organisations, as is the use of technology to support the efficient use of the estate. The move to online meetings required during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a benefit to all organisations through a reduction in travel time and costs, and to fully support operational and business needs moving forward, a mix of face to face, fully on-line and hybrid meetings are required to provide the most flexible and effective solution for all.

In order to fully exploit the benefits of utilising hybrid meetings and undertake meetings in the most efficient way possible, an uplift in the meeting room technology and investment in this space across the whole estate is required, as there is currently only one room in the joint Headquarters with the required technology to support this.

The rollout of additional meeting room technology will be focused on 22 rooms in key police, fire and OPFCC buildings, as well as police custody suites, aligned to operational business needs and frequency of use to ensure the maximum benefit from the investment.
