Executive Summary

The Project recommends that funding is provided and the work is approved to replace all X2 Tasers by January 2028 and improve the Taser Armouries by April 2027. The total revenue required for this project is £1,087,440 and the total capital required is 1,233,673.

It is advised by the NPCC and Axon that Tasers should not be used operationally after they are 5 years old. Should they stay in use, they will all need to be inspected, risk assessed and the Chief Constable must accept/approve the risk. Tasers cannot be used operationally when they are over 7 years old.
