On Thursday 18 July, the Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning (OPFCC) will host an online public meeting where the Chief Constable will be held to account on behalf of the public by Deputy Mayor Jo Coles.
Today Tuesday 9 July, taking her oath of office, Jo Coles, York and North Yorkshire Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime has vowed to represent all communities of York and North Yorkshire.

Today, Wednesday 12 June 2024, the North Yorkshire Police Fire and Crime Panel have confirmed Jo Coles, nominated by York & North Yorkshire Mayor David Skaith, to be appointed Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime.
The community-led project was funded and completed through the former Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner’s Community Fund which brought together marginalised groups from across York and North Yorkshire to develop key recommendations for North Yorkshire Police, the Commissioner’s Office, the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service and wider partners.
