Commissioner Zoë and her team have secured over £700,000 from the Home Office’s Safer Streets Fund to help prevent burglary in North Yorkshire. The funds will be used to pay for free security upgrades for around 1300 households, nearly 100 farms, and small holdings, and Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras to assist North Yorkshire Police in detecting potential burglars.

Free security upgrades are available to homes in the Clapham cum Newby, Cononley, Lawkland, and Lothersdale areas of Craven and Allerton Mauleverer with Hopperton, Kirk Deighton, Kirk Hammerton, Leathley, Long Marston, North Deighton, Sicklinghall  and Spofforth with Stockeld areas of Harrogate.
