How do I get my security upgrade?

Check that your home is eligible and then follow three steps.

Am I eligible?

To qualify for a security upgrade you must live, or have a home in the Whitly ward of Selby District Council: Balne, Cridling Stubbs, Heck, Kirk Smeaton, Little Smeaton, Stapleton, Stubbs Walden, Whitley and Womersley.

What help is available?

The project will include:

  • Providing prevention and security advice to all households to help them protect themselves
  • Providing security upgrades to vulnerable doors and windows, detached garages and sheds
  • Creating earth banks, known as bunds, and blocking gates around fields to stop criminals crossing them to get to the rear of properties.
  • Providing farms with perimeter security to provide early warning of people entering their land
