Your Commissioner - Your Voice

Commissioner Zoë can ask questions on your behalf in her Online Public Meeting with the Chief Constable or Chief Fire Officer. Ask your question and find out more.

What happens after I have signed up?

The next steps

  • When you have registered you will be contacted by our contractor who will arrange a time and day to fit your video doorbell.
  • You will be asked to sign a disclaimer for use of the video doorbell.
  • The engineers will install the video doorbell at no charge to you.

How long have I got to register?

We will be fitting free home security upgrades up to March 2025 and we will close registrations in Jan/Feb 2025.

Will everyone who registers receive a video doorbell?

A resident will receive this upgraded security equipment if:

  • They meet the eligibility criteria of living in identified ward postcodes
  • They sign the scheme documentation
  • There are still funds available in the scheme to provide upgrades

The funding we have from the Home Office for the Protect Your Home Scheme is limited which means we can only pay for security upgrades to a certain number of properties.

The scheme is operated on a ‘first come first served basis’ and when we have spent all of our funding, we will not be able to complete any more security upgrades.
