Fire and Rescue Service – Constitution – York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority
The functions of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) in North Yorkshire were transferred to the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (YNYCA) from 7 May 2024.
The previous Corporate Governance Framework for the Fire and Rescue Service has been replaced by the YNYCA Constitution. This document outlines how the Combined Authority operates, including its legal powers and responsibilities, decision-making processes, and mechanisms for ensuring transparency and accountability to the public. It details the functions of the YNYCA in its capacity as the Fire and Rescue Authority and how these functions are carried out.
