Public questions
- Julie
I’m wondering if you might explain, if possible, just what it takes to see where a ‘trend’ is occurring in cases of fire please? Thank you.

Hi #nyscrutiny it is disturbing to see that @NYorksPolice accounts are now very many months delayed for sign off.
What’s the problem as auditors signed off many others ?
The external auditors provided an update on the progress around the 2020/21 audit to the Joint Audit Committee at the end of March: https://www.northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/6-Audit-Completion-Report.pdf
There are no issues from an internal perspective – the PFCC and Chief Constable produced their draft accounts and provided them for Audit in line with the Statutory timelines : https://www.northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk/police-oversight/finances/accounts-statement/
We are however unfortunately waiting for the External Auditors to complete their work – the delays are not in relation to any issues with the accounts themselves, which can be seen from the update provided to the Audit Committee in March, the issues are in terms of the availability of resources within the External Audit firm to be able complete all of the necessary work.

What can be done once offenders, especially young people have entered the criminal justice system to prevent their behaviour from escalating further?
What role would the safety hubs play?
